Mixed Media

These mixed media paintings were formed by first layering handmade papers, newsprint, handwritten letters, and sheet music and then using acrylic paint to create images. The papers were revealed, covered or additionally layered to create texture unique to each piece. Further texture was added using tissue paper, stamps, scraping tools, watercolor pencils, pastels and impasto techniques. Each piece has been customized using specific materials to represent the subject.
